Wills, Estate & Succession Planning

At Macdessi Lawyers, we recognise the importance of your future. With strict rules about interpreting, signing and witnessing Wills we make the process simple. We can help you make informed decisions regarding your assets and the management of all your estate planning needs.

Whilst a Will looks after your affairs after death it is also important to consider what happens now if you become incapacitated or travel overseas. We can assist you in preparing a Power of Attorney, Guardianship document as well as an Advance Care Directive.

Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney gives another person authority to act on your behalf in relation to your legal and financial affairs while you are still alive.

Guardianship

A Guardianship document is different to a Power of Attorney in that it addresses matters relating to your health and lifestyle. Your enduring guardian for example can make decisions about where you live, what health care you should receive and can consent to the carrying out of medical or dental treatment.

Advance Care Directive

An advanced Care Directive specifies what medical treatment you would like in specific circumstances before you die or when you are no longer able to communicate effectively.

Macdessi Lawyers will guide you through the requirements for Wills, Powers of Attorney, Guardianship appointments and Advance Care Directives to meet your estate planning needs and ensure your peace of mind.
